CRUISING NORTH BAFFIN FJORDS

CRUISING NORTH BAFFIN FJORDS

This morning we were treated to some more spectacular scenery as we cruised into one of the many fjords that Baffin Island has. The skies were overcast but occasionally the clouds lifted and we enjoyed the wonderful views. This is a very stark landscape - the only plants are the lichen on the multicoloured rock mountains.
Norma napped while I went to a morning Art Class to make a necklace. In the afternoon, I took Norma's bracelet to fix and did another necklace.
We used the opportunity while cruising the fjord to walk on the deck - it is less windy than when the ship is travelling when the wind gusts threaten to blow us overboard. We are really enjoying our hour plus walks on the Promenade Deck. The air is so clean, unpolluted, and fresh. It is a pleasure just to breath it in and it is easy to become like an Ever Ready Battery and just keep going and going. It is difficult to understand why so many of the passengers use the treadmills in the Fitness Room for exercise.
We went to the Mozart Tea where the waiters were dressed in 17th century clothing and enjoyed the string quartet playing - Mozart, of course.
I enjoyed a nap and awoke to the sight of some huge icebergs floating by. Now it is time to get ready for dinner at the specialty restaurant, Prego.
