NORDIC WALKING AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

NORDIC WALKING AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

We really need this SeaDay. We woke early and met the fitness director on the walking deck at 7:30 to receive instruction on walking with Nordic Walking Poles. Most use the poles incorrectly so the instruction was helpful. It is quite easy once you get the hang of it and it gives a better workout. It forces you to stand erect and posture is greatly improved. I managed 14 laps - 4.2 miles or 6.7 kilometres. Norma did 3.3 miles or 5.3 kilometres. I spotted our first wildlife on the walk - some porpoises were frolicking in the ship's wake. The weather is quite cool and damp. The ship had to blow the fog horn several times as we passed through thick fog banks. The scenery is beautiful, the water is calm and studded with rocky, tree-covered islands.
After breakfast, while I am slaving away on the blog, Norma is sleeping. It is a half hour til Trivia. After that, it is time to eat again. At 3 o'clock we are going to try our hands at watercolour painting. Sometime today, we want to visit the fitness studio to have our posture evaluated. Oh, and there is a tour of the large suites and penthouse rooms that we'd like to do.
Tonight is a formal dinner and I see that the blouse I intend to wear is for sale in the ship's boutique. I wonder how many others will be wearing it?
